The show that changed the course of Philippine Reality TV will once again invade the airwaves as the newest season of Survivor Philippines sets off on August 17.
Bringing 16 castaways, the show, hosted by Paolo Bediones, took refuge in the unfamiliar territory of Palau. For 39 days, the castaways battled it out with one another vying for the title of the next Pinoy Sole Survivor.
Survivor Philippines: Palau opens with the Castaways making a 1.4 kilometer trek in a wild forest while carrying heavy ammo crates. A test of speed, agility, and strength came at play as they had to race towards the other end of the forest dragging the crates with them. A consequence faced the tribe losing the race. Which tribe emerged stronger?
Trapped in an island that once was home to one of the deadliest wars in history, the Castaways found themselves haunted by the ghosts of World War II. Overturned tanks, aging shipwrecks, and sunken planes were a common sight.
The Japanese-American war ruins were juxtaposed with the flawless beauty of the beaches of Palau and its rich marine life.
Marked by the success of the previous season, tactics and schemes in outwitting, outplaying, and outlasting in Survivor Philippines: Palau might prove to be meaner and more merciless.
Starving for food, yearning for suitable shelter, longing for a loved one, desperation to at least keep one’s sanity on the island can never be more real — factors that challenged the drive to stay and win the3-million peso prize and become the sole survivor.
