Anticipating the outside world

The girls excitedly chitchatted on their plans upon leaving the house. With barely a month before the Big Night, the teens are very much anticipating the real world. Rona plans to reflect first then she would see to her responsibilities and start working. When she goes back to Dumaguete she would settle the college requirements for SillimanUniversity.

Beauty on the other hand dwelt on sentimental matters. She would first tinker with her cell phone and then talk to her father and older brother. She also has dreams to be in show business and make appearances in The Buzz and Asap. Valerie was more concerned with her education and wanted to study in Ateneo.

The conversation was cut short when Kuya told them to quickly shower and prepare themselves for later. Everyone was excited with the awaited Guardian Big Night. Beauty asked Daddy Erning if he was thrilled with the event to which he answered that he was. In preparation for later, the Promdie Hottie invited his father to practice for the talent showdown.

Meanwhile, the girls are nostalgic with the memories Priscilla left in the house. Beauty misses her as well as Rona. Nicole stressed that the Differently-Abled Teen was especially skilled in hairdressing. They would miss how Priscilla took care of them and made sure they were all pretty and primped before the live show. The girls seem to be close with each other and it would be difficult for them to nominate their friends for eviction. Who would be the new set of nominees? And how did the teens justify their nominees? Find out on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus!

Who among A. Daddy Erning, B. Mommy My Love, C. Mommy Minda and D. Mommy Sandy would be the Guardian Big Winner? Keep voting for your favorite guardian and text BBPOLL (letter of chosen guardian) and send to 2366 (Globe, TM and Sun Cellular subscribers) or 231 (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers).

Priscilla returns to the outside world

Priscilla returns to the outside world
May 17, 2008 10:44 PM

With the Big Island Adventure looming just ahead, Kuya prepares the teens through this week’s task. Under the supervision of officers from the Philippine Air Force (PAF), the housemate went through a rigorous military survival training which they brilliantly passed with flying colors last Friday. The teens received a total of 176 merits, 76 points more than Kuya’s expected score. The PAF officers commended everyone saying that they have exerted a lot of effort and have shown maturity all through out the course. After hearing those kind words from the strict teachers, the housemates enveloped them in a group hug. Kuya also awarded the teens their full weekly budget.

Before getting to eviction business, Beauty and the rest of the gang had to say good-bye to Mommy Carina. Although it pained Beauty to sacrifice her own mom from the Guardian Big Four, the young woman knew this was the right thing to do. Mommy Carina gave everyone a tight embrace before bidding her daughter farewell. Although teary eyed, she told hosts Luis Manzano and Bianca Gonzales that she’s crying not because she’s sad. In fact she is very happy and proud of Beauty for she has never seen this side of her daughter before.

Luis then got the housemates ready for the announcement of the evictee for the week. Nicole was the first girl called into the safe zone and there was an obvious look of surprise on her face. Beauty was expecting to follow her mom out of the house tonight, but it was Priscilla who got the boot, garnering only 11.51% of the votes. Priscilla also hugged all the remaining housemates and wished everyone well. She was then welcomed back to the real world by her mom, Jinky.

The Deaf Dreamer was actually all smiles when she saw the crowd outside Kuya’s house. When asked by Luis how she feels at the moment, Pris was very positive about everything. "Ok lang, para sa ‘kin masaya pa rin ako. Kasi kahit paano na nagawa ko pa rin yung dream ko. This is a very big impact for me, to be in this house. Kahit pa kung ako ang naging first evictee, I’m very happy." The young lady also apologized to her mom for being a "bad girl" inside the house. She knows that everything is God’s will and that He has plans for her.

Despite it being a rainy night, the winners of Sikat sa Haircut unveiled their own billboard outside the yellow house. From several entries across the country, Kuya, the male teen housemates and guardians chose who deserved to win the P50,000 cash prize. After some deliberation the men picked the kids of Batang Moreno ng Laguna as the grand prize winners. Their check was presented on stage by ex-teen housemate Josef and guardian Daddy John.

Watch out for the announcement of the Guardian Big Four tomorrow! Who among: A.Erning, B.MyLove, C.Minda or D.Sandy will take home the P500,000 grand prize? Keep on voting for your favorite by texting BBPOLL (letter of chosen guardian) and send to 2366 (Globe, TM and Sun Cellular subscribers) or 231 (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers). As the Big Night nears, don’t miss the teens’ 7th nomination night where they will be undergoing a very different nomination process. Who will be this edition’s Teen Big Four? Find out who will be going to the Big Island Adventure, don’t miss PBB Teen Edition Plus tomorrow right after Goin’ Bulilit.

Unexpected events

Unexpected events
May 17, 2008 4:14 PM

The teens bagged the weekly task of military training and they were awarded with an astounding budget of 10,000php. All were excited at the prospect of the huge sum and the food that they could buy with it. Unexpectedly though, Kuya passed the budget to the guardians for them to manage. The teens were then called into the confession room to watch their hard-earned budget wilt away.

The guardians enthusiastically pitched in healthy dishes such as Kare-Kare, Pansit Sotanghon, and Tinolang Manok. No sweets and treats were included in the original budget since they didn’t want their teens eating junk. Mommy Sandy was quite skeptical about the dishes and wondered if the teens really wanted those. But then she shrugged it off and passed the final grocery list. Kuya returned the list since they were 4,300php short. The guardians then threw in sweets such as ice cream and chocolate bars to fill it in. Mommy Minda also suggested lasagna and pasta which the teens like. The fifteen minutes were up and the guardians regretfully returned their still short grocery list. As soon as they returned this, the teens came out of the confession room. Some groaned at the choice of dishes and some high-fived the guardians for suggesting their “required” sweets.

Meanwhile, Alex was equally thrilled with the prize he received for mud wrestling. The Italian Valentino was given 10,000php to shop for Jag items. However, these weren’t for him but for three of his family members whom he wanted to give it to. He then decided to give his prize to his three siblings. All is well for everyone but not for Mikan who is anticipating Kuya’s judgment on the failure or success of his tasks. Will he succeed in his task of serving Valerie? And who among Nicole, Beauty and Priscilla will be evicted tonight? Find out on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus!

Practical exam day on Uber

Practical exam day on Uber
May 16, 2008 7:31 PM

It’s the day of the teens’ military practical exam and everyone’s nervous about it. With already an outstanding 133 merits, the housemates hope that they pass their weekly task without a glitch. Their skills in raft making were tested by Air Force officers first. Everyone remembered the various knots that were taught to them and they were awarded 10 merits. The next exam was to rescue a drowning victim. Ejay and Robi used the skills they learned just this morning and were able to rescue the mannequin within the three-minute deadline. Rona, Nan and Nicole on the other hand showed-off their floating techniques and were done with the job in just a few seconds. Will they be able to ace the remaining parts of their exam?

Despite the busy week, Valerie and Ejay seem to be able to patch things up with one another. The two had another bout of tampuhan with the same issue of Ejay refusing to reveal his thoughts to the Dazzling Doll. To ease the tension a bit, Valerie gave Ejay a shirt as a remembrance of their friendship, pleasing the hottie from Mindoro. He later revealed to Kuya that all he was to feel special and important to Valerie as she is to him.

Meanwhile, out of his four tasks, Mikan was only able to accomplish one. In today’s poll, the voter’s decided that Valerie would be the housemate that the house player would be serving. Could he pull it off this time? See how Mikan executed his winning task later on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus on Primetime!

Guardian Big Night is only two days away! Vote for your Guardian Big Winner and text BBPOLL to 2366 for Globe, TM and Sun Cellular, or 231 for Smart and Talk ‘n’ Text subscribers. On Primetime: Hard Decisions

On Primetime: Hard Decisions
May 16, 2008 1:16 AM

It’s the third day of the housemates under military discipline. From having an inverted meal to rappelling to catching and cooking frogs for lunch, the teens trudged through. With their game faces on, the teens gamely overcame their fears. It was only with the last task that some faltered. Unlike Val who was extremely enthusiastic at the chase, some weren’t as keen. Beauty, Nikki, Mikan, Nan and Ejay all were terrified of frogs, but the officers pushed them to do it. Like the gritty teens they were, they passed with flying colors.

The boys also performed a froggy rap, led by Ejay (who felt faint at the meal), in commemoration of their froggy meal that they had to personally catch. This was done after a frog-eating game, won by Mikan, that earned them another 5 merits. Only 5 more to go and they would have successfully achieved the 100-merit mark. The first PBB Mud wrestling was also held. Robi “Kilabot” Domingo won the first round versus Nan. Alex “Vava-voom” Anselmuccio was victorious against Ejay. Between the two, Vava-voom went on to wrestle Mikan “Baby Phat” Ong in the championship round, and was declared the winner!

During formation, the officers saw Andi crying yet again. It was quite distracting, so they gave her time to settle down and rest. When she went into the Confession Room, Andi was packed and ready to go. She thanked Kuya for the lessons learned, but was already decided in leaving the house. Andi felt she was emotionally unprepared for the way of life in Kuya’s house: being without her mom, not having freedom to move and see other people. It’s a done deal: another House Player is out.

As a teen exits, so will another guardian. The Final Teen Council – composed of Robi, Rona, Val and Pris – were called individually to decide who among the guardians will be evicted. 3 out of 4 chose Mommy Sandy, and though it was difficult, Nikki accepted it fully. However, Beauty was granted the power to change things. As it is said, “With great power comes great responsibility.” She took time to talk to the teens individually, and in the end, decided to exchange her mom for the survival of Tita Sandy. She felt that Tita Sandy needed it more, and that she has now come to the realization that not everything can be bought by money. This was a big step from someone who used to be quite materialistic and was the little princess. Nikki was overwhelmed by the gesture and the others were all praises for Beauty.

That said, voting is now open for the Guardian big winner! Just text BBPOLL to 2366 for Globe, TM and Sun Cellular, or 231 for Smart and Talk ‘n’ Text subsscribers. To save Nikki, Pris and Beauty, you can still cast your votes online or text BB (name of housemate) and send it to 2331 (for Globe, Sun and TM subscribers) or 231 for (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers). Kuyanatics in UAE may also now vote by texting BB (name of housemate) and sending it to 4200 (for Etisalat subscribers).

The teens learn about snorkeling and sea survival

The teens learn about snorkeling and sea survival
May 16, 2008 6:08 PM

If the previous training days were devoted to land survival, today’s lessons were all about surviving in water. First up were skin diving and snorkeling. The teens have to know how to flutter kick by the end of the day. Ejay, Nan and Robi were the first to demonstrate this with the young man from Davao having problems with his knee bending. Ejay also seemed to be executing the technique wrong and got easily tired. Robi was the only housemate acknowledged by the officers who executed the move the right way.

The girls had the most difficulty in the water activity. Nicole dived in a certain part of the pool and hit her head on a bamboo pole when she emerged from the water. Priscilla was also given special attention since she’s scared to dive. An AF officer assisted the Deaf Dreamer since she seemed to panic whenever she goes underwater.

The teens were then taught how to perform underwater rescue. Everyone enjoyed the activity and was able to accomplish the task smoothly. They were also taught the floater technique where they can use their pants as a floating device. After blowing air into their pants, these were then tied together and hung around their necks. The teens could now safely swim to shore with no worries on sinking.

The teens spent most of the day accomplishing these tasks but Nicole had yet another lined up for her. When the In-Chick from Cebu came out from the confession room, she instantly mimicked anyone she came across with. A wooden frame was placed in the living room to serve as some sort of prop for Nicole’s mirror task. Is a sacrifice or punishment for Nicole? Find out her story and if the teens will succeed in their weekly task later on Uber!
