On Uber: Sisid Seashells
May 15, 2008 7:24 PM

The teens are divided into three teams on Uber today. Team A is composed of Mikan, Nan and Rona, Team B by Valerie, Ejay and Nicole and Team C included Beauty, Alex and Robi. Kuya would give out a question about a housemate and Priscilla would have to pick a seashell in a fishbowl with a letter on it. A representative of each team would dive for the sea shell with the matching letter and whoever swims to shore first would get to answer the question.

Questions ranged from who’s taking up what course in college, who’s crushing on whom to who eats rice the most. House player Mikan stepped up his game plan and swam for the seashells eager to answer Kuya’s questions. The teens got giggly when Mikan answered Kuya’s question of whom he was crushing on among the housemates. The house player bravely answered that it was Beauty whom he liked. Though Mikan tried to impress the Rebellious Girl with his diving skills, Ejay’s group swam the fastest and emerged victorious.

Meanwhile, Mommy Minda is awarded Guardian of the Night during a fashion show and she gets to cook lasagna and play games with Alex inside a special room as her prize. Alex enjoyed his mom’s yummy cooking and also taught his mom on how to play games on the Play Station. While the two enjoyed inside Kuya’s reward room, the housemates were also having a blast with the girls’ mini-concert. Armed with sandoks, the girls sang their hearts out to Avril Lavigne songs.

Although Mikan’s success in his previous task yet remains to be seen, he has a new mission lined up this afternoon. He has to open up and get close with housemate Rona, who got the highest votes in today’s poll. Will Mikan conquer this task? Check out this story and more of the teens’ boot camp activities later on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus on primetime

Nicole, Pris or Beauty?  Help them out by voting online or text BB (name of housemate) and send it to 2331 (for Globe, Sun and TM subscribers) or 231 for (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers). Kuyanatics in UAE may also now vote by texting BB (name of housemate) and sending it to 4200 (for Etisalat subscribers).

Mikan accomplishes his task but Alex is out to get him

Mikan accomplishes his task but Alex is out to get him
May 15, 2008 4:22 PM

For the fourth time this week, the Air Force troop marched into the house to continue with the housemates’ military training. They noticed Alex’s multi-colored nails and reprimanded him about it. Alex, who was completely clueless about his painted nails, received several rounds of frog walking as punishment. Afterwards, he was ordered to remove the nail polish in 10 counts and the Italian Valentino scrubbed it in haste.

The drill officer was still in utter disbelief that Alex slept like a log and didn’t feel someone painting his nails. Ejay, who slept in the bed next to Alex’s, was then interrogated and the Promdie Hottie vehemently denied any involvement with nail painting. The officer then gave Alex an assignment to find out who between his “bed neighbors” Robi and Ejay committed the offense. Alex, on the other hand, has a strong suspicion that Mikan is responsible for the deed. Will he blow the house player’s cover?

Besides being under suspicion of being a ‘manikurista’, Ejay was also penalized by the drill officer for wearing an earring in the line-up. The housemate then diligently did his punishment of jumping jacks and even actively participated in today’s lecture about reading maps and navigation. The teens learned about the different kinds of maps the military used. By memorizing the color codes, the teens will be able to easily navigate in their destination. Brown lines signify the mountains while the blue lines indicate a body of water. Black lines are for man made structures and green lines imply vegetation. The officers reminded everyone to take care of their maps since it’s colors fade out quickly and would disorient them should this happen.

Keep visiting the website for more updates of the housemates! Also catch another exciting game on Uber this afternoon with the return of host Mariel Rodriguez.

Keep those votes coming for Nicole, Beauty and Priscilla! Confused Cupid

Confused Cupid

Ejay and Valerie went aside to have a serious talk. Valerie was quite disappointed with Ejay’s conflicting statements, with other people and most especially, regarding his feelings towards her. She told Ejay that she was having a difficult time believing him, especially if he keeps on changing his mind. If Ejay could change his mind quickly about others, what more with her? Val asked Ejay if he believed in her, as she felt that he was still questioning her moves and statements, and Val was already getting frustrated. Good thing she got to unwind with Rona’s supposed hot seat show!

Mikan settled into the house and the teens with ease. After taking off his mask and introducing himself (He earlier introduced himself with, “Hi, I’m Shy”), the teens hugged him and welcomed him. Of course, the fact taht he prepared ahearty breakfast for them may also have played a part. Rona even helped him fix up, while Mikan shared part of his childhood. Mikan admitted that he had a crush on Beauty, yet later, as he was sitting with Rona,  the Positive Girl teased him to Valerie. Is Cupid playing musical careers with the tandems? Rona claimed it was now Ejay-Nikki and Mikan-Val. Will Mikan and Andy be able to step up and seriously fill Shy’s shoes at being House Players?

Check out the blogs and official website. Also, polls are open so save Beauty, Nikki and Pris. Vote online or text BB (name of housemate) and send it to 2331 (for Globe, Sun and TM subscribers) or 231 for (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers). Kuyanatics in UAE may also now vote by texting BB (name of housemate) and sending it to 4200 (for Etisalat subscribers).

On Primetime: Boot camp continues

On Primetime: Boot camp continues

Mikan, Mr. Big Love from Olongapo, is the newest addition to the house. He took the place of ex-House Player, Shy – or did he? The first task of the House Players this week was to be clumsy with Robi. Since Andy was unable to get a move on it, Kuya gave her (ang Mikan) specific tasks to complete: spit water in Rob’s face, spill coffee down his back, and step on his big toe. Though they were almost able to accomplish their tasks, Kuya declared them non-winners. They failed to make an impression on Robi, aside from making him feel that there truly were secret tasks at hand. Both Andy and Mikon were saddened but admitted that they were unable to grab the correct opportunities. Indeed, Shy set the bar high enough to keep the other two continually on their toes. Andy was so homesick already, though only a few days in Kuya’s house. She was sad and missed her mom terribly, especially when she sees the guardians. She saw the kind of freedom PBB offers, which was unlike the familiar. She was also feeling the pressure brought about by coming in late, long after the others have bonded.

Speaking of pressure, all housemates scrambled about trying to get ready for the military exercises. All seemed well as their officers were happy with their improvements and granted them 26 merits and only 5 demerits. With a total of 60 merits, will the teens use their skills wisely to reach the 100 merit-mark? After physical training, Survival Skills were taught: knots, making a balsa or raft, chopping a coconut properly, and cooking. They tasted the fruits of their labor afterwards, as they shared a meal and became human motors to the floating raft.

Priscilla, on the other hand, was definitely less enthusiastic than they are. The rigid training was talking too much to handle, and Capt. Bernabe had to talk to her several times (with Beauty as an interpreter). She was reminded that she was not different from the rest, so it would be unfair to exempt her. This irritated Priscilla, because Val and Beauty were excused for health reasons. The Captain reminded them that they are there for a reason, not to pull the teens down. All were tired, but they kept on going. No less was expected from her.

The teens and the guardians had another tandem task: dance revo! However, after exercising their aching muscles to the tune of hip songs, they had more work ahead of them. They got back from the task to a ransacked house (c/o ex-housemate Bianca G), and were only given exactly 30 minutes to put the house back in order. Ejay stepped up to delegate, and though most of the house was back in shape, all were sure of demerits from their officers.

Will they reach their 100-merit goal? Will Andy give in to cold feet and head on out the door? The final teen council met for the last time, only days away from the Guardians Big Night. What is expected of them? Too many updates to miss, so make sure you check out the blogs and official website. Also, polls are open so save Beauty, Nikki and Pris. On Uber: Palakasan sa Putikan

On Uber: Palakasan sa Putikan
May 14, 2008 8:29 PM

After three days of intense military training, the boys feel they are fit for today’s challenge on Uber. Kuya has ordered the boys to compete in Palakasan sa Putikan, a mud wrestling match. The housemate who gets thrown out of the muddy ring five times will be declared the loser of the round and the winning teen would move on to the finals to beat heavy weight "Baby Fat" Mikan. The first teens to compete were Robi a.k.a "Kilabot" and Nan a.k.a. "Bato". The two struggled in the muddy pit while the girls pumped their fists in the air and cheered their bets on. Luis Manzano, stationed at the Uber studio commented on the combat game and placed his bet on Nan. However, the "Kilabot" proved too much for "Bato" and defeated him quickly.

The next fighters were Ejay "Barako" and Alex "Vavavoom". The two looked like an equal match, both being tall and of the same weight but Alex beat Ejay with no difficulty at all. Alex then faced Robi in the semi-final round and defeated the Atenean effortlessly. Will Alex be able to win easily over a big and tough opponent like "Baby Fat" Mikan?

Meanwhile, Shy was interviewed live on Uber today. According to the first house player ng bayan, she wasn’t having much fun inside Kuya’s house anymore and therefore decided to leave. She also revealed that out of all the housemates, she was most at ease with Rona and at odds with Priscilla. The teen house player also said that Robi, Rona, Valerie and Alex deserve to be part in Big Four.

If House Player Shy pulled off her special tasks, Second House Player Andi seem to have trouble doing hers. She connived with Mikan in order to successfully push through with her "clumsy on Robi" task. She said that Mikan would be in charge of stepping on his big toe while it was up to her to "accidentally" spill coffee on his back. Will the two measure up to Shy’s success in the previous week? It was noticeable that Andi was absent in the wrestling match. She has been gone for most of the day until now. Does this mean that the second house player already surrendered on her assignment and decided to exit like Shy? Find out the answers to these later on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus on Primetime!

Facing Fears

Facing Fears
May 14, 2008 2:44 PM

The teens started off the day with a team breakfast and everything was done in military style. The food was portioned and the eating was timed. And to add to their growing indigestion was the way they had to eat their food – with a ruler straight back and with the food to be brought to their mouth. To emphasize teamwork, they had to share a cup of water, and they had to eat the leftovers of their teammate so as not to waste food.

The teens were then given a brief lecture on rappelling. Besides Robi and Nicole, nobody else had experienced it and all listened intently. The officers differentiated the kinds of rappelling. One of which is the run down, similar to that of a spider. And the other is the standard, which Robi and Nicole had tried out and would be experienced by the rest. The officers also warned them on rope burns, but besides that, they had nothing to fear. One crucial advice for the teens was to trust and give their confidence to the rope.

Everyone was psyched with the activity. The buddy system would be used and the teens paired up. First up the wall was True Blue Atenista Robi. He seemed to enjoy it much that as soon as he got down, he wanted to have another go at it again. The lecture appeared easy for the teens, but as soon as they were up, all buckled with the activity. They fumbled and struggled with the rope and the officers constantly reminded them to trust the ropes and hold on to it.

After this grueling task, the teens were incredibly famished. Despite this, they had no choice and still had to catch their lunch. They were first taught how to improvise on a fishing rod using a kawayan and then attach the bait on the hook. However they weren’t going to catch fish for their lunch. The officers tipped over a basket and released live frogs. The creatures wildly hopped and the teens frantically ran the other way. Everyone was totally terrified with the green creatures except for Valerie and Rona who enjoyed running after them. To boost up the teens, the officers announced that the first to accomplish adobong palaka would get five merits. All stepped up their game except for Beauty and Nicole. The officers firmly called everyone into a straight line and forcefully had them hold a frog each. Nicole avoided the equally scared frog like the plague while Beauty sobbed loudly in a corner. The two eventually got over it thanks to Rona and Valerie who convinced them that the frogs were harmless.

Everyone then cooked with much precision and dogged determination to earn the merits. Who among them will weasel out merits from the hard-to-please officers? Meanwhile, house player Andi had gone missing since this morning. Did she surrender to the pressure and followed Shy’s footsteps? Regularly visit the PBB Multiply Site for up to the minute updates and check out Uber to see if Andi has returned!

Nicole, Priscilla and Beauty are nominated this week. Keep voting for your favorite teen and save her from eviction! You may vote online or text BB (name of housemate) and send it to 2331 (for Globe, Sun and TM subscribers) or 231 for (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers). Kuyanatics in UAE may also now vote by texting BB (name of housemate) and sending it to 4200 (for Etisalat subscribers).

Andy cries her heart out

Andy cries her heart out
May 13, 2008 10:58 PM

Mican, who replaced Shy, fit in smoothly with the housemates. It was Andy, the second House Player, who was having a difficult time coping with the demands of the PBB house. In fact, she has spent the last couple of days crying about this and that. She opened up to fellow House Player Mican that she felt sad whenever she sees the other teens with their guardians. She had never really appreciated her family’s presence, most especially her mom, and it was in being in the PBB house that she was hit with the realizations. Looking back at the past Mothers’ Day, the day she entered Kuya’s house, she realized that she abrely even talked to her mom. Mican played the elder brother and explained that there was a reason why each of them was put in the house. All of them, too, had the capacity to change and adapt. Andy still continued crying, and soon the other housemates were by her side. Will Andy follow Shy out of the house or choose to grow within Kuya’s house?

Meanwhile, Beauty was having difficulty walking after a day of vigorous training. Ejay committed a grave offense when he asked Mican if he saw the goings-on from outside. Will Kuya add him to the list of automatic nominees? Keep watching and checking updates on Uber and Primetime Bida, right after Lobo!
