Josef’s luck runs out
May 10, 2008 10:50 PM

Before PBB hosts Toni and Luis got down to eviction business, the two first gave a recap of what happened these past few days inside the house. Ejay, who finally finished Kuya’s task of removing dirty pool water, received a body massage reward which he thought Valerie would be giving him. Big Brother actually had other plans though and gave Ejay the old switcheroo by conniving with Nan to exchange places with the Dazzling Doll. The two tried their best to muffle their giggles as they executed Kuya’s massage plans. The housemates were all witnesses to Ejay’s reward, the whole thing broadcasted in the plasma TV in the living room. Everyone waited with bated breath as Ejay removed his masked and discovered Kuya’s prank. Valerie, Nan and the teens were almost rolling on the floor with laughter as it dawned on the Hottie from Mindoro that he was giving his praises to a boy housemate and not the girl he likes. Kuya then explained to Ejay that the activity was not to make a mockery out of him but for him to lighten up.

On the other hand, Shy celebrates her 4th victory as the house player ng bayan after successfully making Beauty her best friend inside the house. Kuya had three conditions for Shy to win the task: One, Shy must be able to make Beauty ask her to do a favor; Two, Beauty must open up to Shy about something very important in her life; Three, Beauty must give her a souvenir or a token of their friendship. It seemed daunting to Shy at first, but as she began her ‘moves’ on Beauty, everything just fell into place. The house player got her first point during a heart-to-heart talk when Beauty shared that she wants to get her dad’s attention by making him proud. The next point came when the rebellious girl from Dumaguete asked Shy to give being a housemate another shot by staying for another week. And the completion of the task came when Beauty gave her a sort of remembrance, a blouse which Shy must wear when they go to a gimik once they are all out of Kuya’s house. As one of Shy’s rewards, Kuya finally allowed her to remover her mask and now all the housemates can see her beautiful face.

Toni and Luis then moved on to the task at hand and announced that the first housemate saved from eviction was Rona. Relief flooded Rona’s face for Nicole and Josef were tough competition after all. Nicole’s name was called out next making Josef the third housemate officially evicted from the house. Rona gave Josef a big hug while Nicole seemed to be in shock and stared into space. The girl from Cebu cried her heart out a few seconds later, and got enveloped in an embrace from Mommy Sandy. Josef gave out hugs to all the housemates and guardians, before finally talking to Nicole. Kuya then asked him and Tita Anna to exit the house, making Nicole shed tears even more.

Josef and Tita Anna was then whisked unto the stage and were joined by Josef’s dad and brother. On his eviction, Josef shared that he has already accepted his fate. "Ayos lang, desisyon yun ng mga tao, tanggap ko ng buong puso." Tita Anna also thanked everyone who supported Josef all this time. The Lasallite only received 26.07% of the votes while Nicole got 30.81% and Rona with the highest at 43.12%.

Don’t miss the exciting live nomination night tomorrow as another house player joins the teens! Shy’s ka-connivance is described by Toni as very pretty and the daughter of a multi-awarded actress. Who can she be? Also an unforgettable summer adventure awaits the housemates. The first PBB teens went to the Hundred Islands so where can be the next paradise destination be? Eviction blues

Eviction blues
May 10, 2008 3:57 PM

Judgment day has arrived for the three nominees and they were very much aware of it. Early this morning, Rona strongly felt that she would be the third evictee. She wanted to be remembered by everyone and distributed her shirts to the housemates. Valerie thought twice on receiving an article of Rona’s clothing since she believes it to be bad luck. Instead of dwelling on negative vibes, the Dazzling Doll tried to cheer Rona up and said that she has a feeling she would be saved from tonight’s eviction. Rona couldn’t be convinced otherwise and started packing her bags. She also approached best bud Priscilla and gave her a thank you speech. Apart from this, she also assured her that they would be friends even after the season ends. As though to prove a point, she sang her own version of “That’s What Friends Are For”. The Teen Debater also shared her plans of visiting her imprisoned father as soon as she leaves the house.

If Rona wanted to be remembered by the housemates, Nicole and Josef wanted to be remembered by each other. The two wanted to keep contact and remain friends outside. Since there were no pen and papers inside the house, Josef recited his mobile number to the In-Chick from Cebu. Nicole however was too forlorn to even memorize the digits. After a while, she pondered aloud on what would happen to them outside. Josef pretended to ignore this and nonchalantly replied that things would be the same, nothing would change. Nicole wasn’t convinced and continued prodding the Lethal LaSallite on.

Everyone seemed to share this gloominess and Shy expressed her sentiments on leaving Kuya’s house. The teen house player apparently was torn on her decision to stay or leave. Rona advised her to follow her heart and remain in the house. Will Shy consider this or will she join the next evictee in exiting Kuya’s house?

Meanwhile, the boys are preparing a special surprise for Rona. Robi, Nan, Alex and Ejay wanted to sing her favorite song and surprise her with flowers. What could this surprise presentation mean? Find out on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus!

Who would you want to save among Rona, Nicole and Josef? The decision is in your hands! Keep those votes coming and text BB (name of housemate) and send to 2331 (for Globe, Sun and TM subscribers) or 231 for (Smart and Talk N Text subscribers). Kuyanatics in UAE may also vote by texting BB (name of housemate) and sending it to 4200 (for Etisalat subscribers).

“Ang boyfriend ay parang t-shirt.”

“Ang boyfriend ay parang t-shirt.”
May 10, 2008 4:31 AM

This was one of Shy’s many “quotable quotes”. Now that Shy was no longer seen as “the enemy”, the girls were willingly opening up to her. As Beauty observed, “Ang lalim mong magsalita. Naiintindihan mo ang lahat dito.” Shy did not mince words, but the housemates have slowly accepted her as one of their own. Even Nikki was willing to take the frank commentaries of the House Player in good faith. Shy was really concerned with how Nikki was acting towards Josef, worried that the In Chick may be projecting a negative image for herself and was also disregarding the pain she was inflicting on their respective partners outside. She did not mean to be judgmental, but was very firm in her principles towards the issue. Nikki explained that when she finds something that makes her happy, she doesn’t want to let go anymore. She was scared of being alone, especially now that she’d be entering college. Shy reminded her that she was never really alone. Having a boyfriend was not the be all and end all of things. She didn’t insist her stand, but reminded Nikki that she had to decide and had to acknowledge where she stood. Though Nikki did not give in at once, Beauty told Shy to let her be, and trust that Nikki knew what she was doing, especially after Shy’s insights. Rona, who was an NBSB (no boyfriend since birth), gamely joined in the conversation and asked Shy about relationships. Shy equated boyfriends to shirts, easily disposed of when you grow tired of them or want a new one. “Hindi mo masasabi na ‘yung first mo, last na. Magsasawa ka, maghahanap ng iba. Parang… hindi pwedeng lagging adobo, nakakasawa.” Rona remained idealistic and wanted her first to be her last. Contrary to her statements, Shy claimed that when she was in a relationship, she was very faithful to her boyfriend. In fact, she still wore the ring given by her ex-boyfriend on her left hand. But when she’s single, “2 hours ka lang, kasi may kasunod pa!”

“Paano ka mag-ggrow kung puro walang kwenta iniisip mo?” Brutally frank, Shy dispensed advice to Beauty. She even suggested “The Purpose Driven Life” as a good read (though she couldn’t leave her copy with them, since it was given by someone dear). She called Beauty’s attention to her constant screaming, telling her that it was unbecoming. Beauty recalled all her sacrifices in being a housemate: no cigarettes, covering up for baths, and proper dressing, among others. She also felt she lacked something, that something was out of whack in her personality. Despite these, she was happy being inside Kuya’s house, and shared this with Shy. It wasn’t the first time that Shy expressed the intention to leave, but Beauty stopped her. “I’ll do anything for you to stay one more week.” Beauty believed that being bored and unhappy –Shy’s reasons—weren’t enough to quit. Beauty wanted Shy to experience living in the PBB house, and assured the House Player that, wise as she may be, she still had many things to learn.

Meanwhile, the boys were having fun re-enacting the crab challenge as they goofed around by the pool. Ejay lamented on the supposed German style of courtship, which was via text and the net. They also compared haircuts, as Kuya had their hair fixed. Later, all gathered in the sala to watch Ejay and Val on TV. Val was having her haircut and Ejay, a massage. The catch was, Ejay thought Val was the once massaging him as the Dazzling Doll commented as if she were. Afterwards, Ejay was all red when he heard the comments of the others. The night before evictions… is this another calm before the storm?

Will Josef and Nikki be able to clear all issues, especially since they both have a chance of being the evictee in a few hours? Will Rona’s good intentions see her through? What other contributions will Shy give, and will she increase the pot money to P 40k? Last chance to save Rona, Josef and Nikki! Eviction night is in just a few more hours, so get those fingers tweaking. On Primetime: House Player ups pot money to 30k

On Primetime: House Player ups pot money to 30k
May 10, 2008 3:16 AM

At the first opportunity, Shy rushed about the girls’ room to grab and hide Nikki’s clothes. For the House Player’s fourth task, she had to hide half of Nikki’s stock of clothes without anyone knowing. Since she was always first to bathe, Shy had the room to her for a few moments, and she stuck the clothing under her mattress. She had another go at clothes-napping moments after, in between chores and even with Valerie sleeping in the next bed. After taking her bath, Nikki noticed the lost items and rushed to Kuya. Contrary to her expectations, Kuya simply shrugged off her panic and reminded her to be more responsible next time. Shy succeeded in her task once again, increasing the pot money to P30,000. However, she had to figure out a way to return Nikki’s clothes. She hot her chance when Kuya called Nikki in the Confession Room, and in just a few minutes, she managed to stick all of Nikki’s clothes in the In Chick’s luggage, with a few seconds to spare to prevent suspiciousness. Once out of the Confession Room, Nikki was still at a loss as to what happened to her things; Kuya remained mum on the entire event, and told her to just search again. The other teens urged her to look in the luggage, and lo and behold, her missing clothes were in her maleta! This did not lessen her confusion, and in fact added to it, as she continually claimed that they truly weren’t there earlier.

Her relationship with Josef was falling to pieces. True to his word, Josef had been studiously staying out of Nikki’s way, and made efforts to avoid situations with her. This had Nikki out of sorts, but as much as the girls wanted to ease her worries, there was no way around it. After all, Josef wasn’t obviously avoiding her; he just kept himself busy with tasks and Alex (who was in on the challenge). Still, Nikki felt bad that Josef was treating her differently and seemed set on avoiding her like the plague. During the weekly task, Rona instructed them to hold hands to keep from falling. Nevertheless, Josef stayed away and conversed minimally.

Two more tasks were up next. One was in honor of Mothers’ Day, where the teens composed a poem for their moms (mostly, it was Rona who dictated) within 30 minutes. They texted this to Beauty who was in the Confession Room, who in turn wrote it down on a huge card and later recited it to the guardians. Roses were also given by the teens to the ilaw ng tahanan.

Their last task was a game where they had to go into the pool, blindfolded and with only Shy’s voice to guide them as they picked golden coins that were hanging by a string above them. Before letting them wade in the pool, Kuya showed them live crabs getting poured into the pool. All the while, they thought that there were live crabs nipping at their heels, when in actuality it was only Luis with tongs. Shy, who was their guide, was in on the gag, and also acted as though there were real crabs. Beauty was first in, but she didn’t even last a minute before she scrambled back up, crying. Josef was next, but not even he was up to the challenge. All the teens took their turns and in the end, Priscilla won, with 3 gold coins. For this, she and a housemate of her choice (Rona was her pick since it was with the Positive Girl that she felt most close to, despite their recent conflict) got to go take a trip to ManilaOceanPark. Both were amazed at the sights and thoroughly enjoyed their “underwater” prize trip.

Will Nikki find out who was behind the clothes-napping? Will Josef be able to stay away from the In Chick? Who will say goodbye to the group tomorrow? Last chance to save Rona, Josef and Nikki! On Uber: Teamwork at its finest

On Uber: Teamwork at its finest
May 09, 2008 9:00 PM

After winning last week’s RC cars challenge, the teens were brave enough to bet 50% of their budget for the fulcrum table task. After a week of practicing, the teens confidently executed the tricks they had to do on the table this afternoon. In groups of four, they would have to balance, walk in reverse, and trade places with the housemate across them all in the span of the Kabataang Pinoy theme to be able to win the challenge.

Ejay, Beauty, Alex and Josef were the first to display the art of balancing on the fulcrum table. Josef constantly reminded them to concentrate but unfortunately Ejay fell off during one of the exhibitions. The next batch was comprised of Valerie, Priscilla, Robi and Nan. Though the group started off slow, they were able to perform everything within the time limit. The last batch of housemates – Shy, Rona, Nicole plus Nan – did the exhibition fastest. Kuya in the end overlooked Ejay’s mistake and declared the teens winners. He then announced that they will be receiving an additional P7,500 to their weekly budget.

If things seemed to run smoothly for all, it’s certainly the opposite of what’s happening between Priscilla and Shy. The Deaf Dreamer from Davao won the Crabadaboo challenge yesterday and she felt that Shy is insinuating that she owed it all to her. However, in the actual game, the Differently-Abled teen did owe it all to the teen house player, who gave her special treatment inside the pool. The house player practically got the gold coins for Priscilla for her to win. When will Priscilla ever settle her issues with Shy?

Don’t miss this story and Nicole’s hunt for her missing clothes on PBB Teen Edition Plus on primetime right after Lobo.

Teens play the foot long game

Teens play the foot long game
May 09, 2008 2:27 PM

The teens gathered in the activity area for Kuya’s daily task. The teens had to pair up and the tandem had to consume a foot long on a rod without using their hands. The fastest pair to consume the long wiener would be getting a special prize. Shy was once again exempted from the game and was the designated facilitator.

The girls drew the names of their partners from a fishbowl. Priscilla drew Nan’s name and the others giggled at the unusual pair. They were up first and they immediately put the rubber straps over their mouths. The pair then stretched the rubber straps and faced each other positioning themselves for the attack. Kuya then gave the go signal and the two chowed down on the wiener. Next pair was Beauty and Robi who had their eyes on the target and devoured it with much gusto. Nicole and Ejay were next and the sheltered In-Chick from Cebu had a huge dilemma. Ejay bit on a long wiener which dangled limply on his mouth. This required his partner to catch the hotdog before it drops to the ground. Rona also had the same dilemma with partner Alex but both girls overcame this. Since the Teen Debater is known to be reserved, her fellow housemates teased her with the split second intimacy with the Italian Valentino. This came to an end when Kuya announced that Beauty and Robi won the challenge and the two will get a holiday treat in Boracay.

Meanwhile, Shy and Beauty were chummies earlier this morning. The two talked about the Uber game yesterday and Beauty still couldn’t believe it was just Luis clamping on her leg. She was so traumatized by the experience that Shy shared the secret of such mind games. Kuya wouldn’t do anything to harm the teens and everyone had to hold on to that idea and trust him. Beauty considered this and their conversation delved deeper into more secret matters. Does this mean that Shy won her 5th task to have Beauty as her best friend? Is Shy starting to consider Beauty as her best friend or is this all in the name of a task?See if Shy won her 5th mission and watch the teens’ weekly task performance later on Uber!
