PBB : Jieriel is this edition’s first evictee

Jieriel is this edition’s first evictee
April 12, 2008 11:04 PM

The teens may have rejoiced yesterday after receiving their first weekly task win but now they are all feeling down after the announcement of the first ever evictee, Jieriel. The Davaoena garnered the lowest number of votes (4.59%) while Josef got the highest (47.49%). Automatic nominees Priscilla and Valerie got 19.98% and 18.66% respectively while Linda got 9.28%.

Before the tense filled eviction happened, the housemates were pretty ecstatic over winning their tie-dye shirt weekly task, benefiting the medical mission Libreng Operation sa Laoag. Their weekly budget will get a 75% increase and Robi, whose team made the most number of shirts (626 shirts), will be doing the grocery shopping. Josef’s team on the other hand, did a task this morning for the medical mission, because they only produced 374 shirts.

But as eviction time got nearer, the nominated teens were a bit somber and waited tensely for the announcement from Toni. First to exit the nomination block was Priscilla, who could not help but grin from ear to ear. Valerie and Linda quickly followed her into the safe zone. There was an obvious look of relief on the Dazzling Doll’s face for she frequently mentioned this week about disappointing her mother who’s in Germany. Linda was beaming too, probably thanking her lucky stars that she got her family reunion and non-eviction all in the same week.

Although Josef remained grim looking, Jieriel tried to smile even though Toni called out her name as the first teen evictee. But tears immediately streamed down her face as she hugged the housemates one by one and said her final good-byes. Together with Daddy Gerry, Jieriel exited the house and greeted the audience with a wave. Even if she has left her friends inside, Jie will fondly remember everything she has done and learned while living in Kuya’s house.

The teens can start relaxing…for a few hours that is. They have to do the nomination process once again tomorrow and await the announcement of the second set of nominees tomorrow night. Also a guardian will be leaving Kuya’s secret quarters upon the decision of the second Teen Council. Who are the Teen Council members and who among the guardians will they pick this time? Don’t miss the very exciting PBB Teen Edition Plus second nomination night right after Goin’ Bulilit

PBB : On the night before the first eviction

On the night before the first eviction
April 12, 2008 3:53 AM

The five nominees have already been given back their luggage to pack. Four of them will be fortunate enough to unpack their things tomorrow night, and one will unpack at home. Jieriel, Linda, Priscilla, Valerie and Josef try to keep things as normal as possible. All housemates tried to keep things light and easy, as if laughing and eating would make the night longer and tomorrow come slower, if it should come at all.

Jieriel willed her slippers to the housemates, to be left behind as a reminder of her presence in the house. She knew everyone will have to be evicted, and she accepts it fully, except that she would miss the housemates and being in Kuya’s house herself. Amidst, mini sobs and sniffles, Jieriel reminded the boys to behave and pick up after themselves. Ejay finally got to talk to Valerie, as the Dazzling Doll shared her frustrations and disappointments, mostly with herself. She fears letting her mom down, especially after her mom has had high hopes pinned on her. Valerie felt that she still hasn’t done and given much, which has her frustrated at the possibility of being given the boot.

Priscilla exchanged sentiments with Rona, quite calm as she explains (more to herself than to Rona, probably) that entering PBB, all knew it was a competition, and as such, there will always be those who lose. Being in Kuya’s house was a blessing already, because it had helped her in many ways. PBB is about molding people into better persons, and that has already started with her. Josef spent some time alone with Nikki, sharing small talk. Asked for one thing she would miss once Josef gets kicked out, Nikki remained mum and refused to answer. She even denied the obvious tears and Josef graciously let her be. They instead opted to talk about safe topics and plans for Nikki’s birthday and such trivial stories.

How long will this supposed status quo last? Not for long, definitely. There won’t be a dry eye in the house, no matter who gets evicted first. No sweet dreams for anyone. One can only hope for a dreamless and peaceful shut-eye, as all need their rest for the coming day. As Josef said, it’s going to be loooong day ahead. Sleep tight, housemates.

PBB : On Primetime: A Giant’s Tears for a Giant-hearted dad

On Primetime: A Giant’s Tears for a Giant-hearted dad
April 12, 2008 3:48 AM

The four boys successfully pull off Nan’s rescue mission by dragging Jolas and Ejay off to the secret place without them knowing it. They woke up slowly, not quite sure if they were still dreaming. It took quite some time before the reality of things settled. “Namaligno yata tayo,” whispered Jolas. Bit by bit, they figured out where their other housemates have been disappearing to. Daddy Ike and Daddy Erning were hands-on in welcoming their boys, refusing to let others take care of their needs. Soon enough, the boys bond with the guardians. They learn how to whistle and how to bake pandesal. Daddy Ike, who used to be a baker, enthusiastically took on the job of teaching the boys to bake pandesal, although he hasn’t done it in the past 18 years.

Daddy Ike takes up the courage to ask Kuya of a simple favor: to have Jolas sleep beside him. “Nasasabik na din ako sa kanya.” From such a statement, the rest of Daddy Ike’s sentiments start flowing. Jolas is his only son, his only child. He had another son, older than Jolas, but he passed away when he was just 2 ½ years old from leukemia. The bakery that he once owned was sold to finance the expensive treatment, as well as his mom’s jewelry. There were slim hopes of survival, and Daddy Ike lifted his son up to God, believing that what is God’s should be given to Him. He lost his elder son and was given another chance to be a father through Jolas. Again, Jolas was diagnosed ill, and Daddy Ike and his wife prayed. Within 24 hours, baby Jolas recovered. Daddy Ike then vowed to raise his son the best way he could. When Jolas got into a motorcycle accident, he was very mad not so much for almost losing his chances at pro basketball nor his dreams for his son, but for the fear of losing his son yet again. They just patched up recently, and the fact that he is present with Jolas in the PBB house speaks volumes of this father’s love. Being in the house put his job in jeopardy, but that doesn’t matter. What is important is that he supported his child all the way. His wife backed up his decision, saying they’ll manage to get by whatever happens. Kuya showed his admiration as he proclaimed Daddy Ike a rich man, rich in faith and love.  All these revelations were shared with Jolas, and the Gentle Giant sobbed his heart out. His dad’s tears had him pounding the sofa, begging Kuya to stop already. When he left the Confession Room, Jolas headed straight for his dad and the two took a short walk. He began by sharing how Kuya asked him how he was, but after saying Kuya let him watch something, he suddenly found himself at a loss for words and just hugged his dad tightly. Daddy Ike hugged his son back and patted him. Later that evening, Jolas slipped into bed beside Daddy Ike, staring into space, no doubt recalling what happened in the Confession Room.

Meanwhile, Linda’s days of being with both parents come to an end – at least inside Kuya’s house. Daddy Hans and Mommy Ningning said their goodbyes after having breakfast with Linda and having a word with Kuya. As the two head towards the guardians’ area, there was already a plan to talk as a family once outside to discuss the next step. Kuya has planted the seed already, will they manage to see it through?

So much has happened in just a few weeks. Families have been given a new chance at things. Both teens and their guardians have learned quite a lot about themselves and each other. What other developments are about to happen? With her parents reunited somehow, would Linda rather see it through outside the house? How are the other housemates doing? It’s eviction night in just a few hours, so don’t forget to cast that vote for your fave housemate. PBB : The house guest, the litter-bugs and the noodlenapper

The house guest, the litter-bugs and the noodlenapper
April 11, 2008 7:13 PM

Mariel, wearing a trench coat, boots and a spy glass in hand, entered Kuya’s abode to do a little investigating while the housemates were locked up inside the girls’ bedroom. Kuya’s host turned house guest last Celebrity Edition was horrified upon seeing the mess the teens have created in the living room, dining area and kitchen. Mariel found a pair of running shoes on top of a statue, snack wrappers mixed with the materials used for their weekly task and used glasses on top of almost every available space in the living room. Adding to Mariel’s disgust were the rotting vegetables and fish beside the unwashed plates on the counter top in the kitchen.

Mariel then inspected the tie-dyed shirts the teens were finishing for their weekly task which will benefit L.O.L (Libreng Operation sa Laoag) medical mission. Liking a purple shirt made by Beauty, Mariel immediately snatched it and left her payment inside an instant noodle cup. But the mischievous house guest that she is, Mariel even left a note saying she took the shirt but not their noodles, bringing up the subject of the noodlenapper once again.

After ending her note with a smiley face, Mariel continued her naughtiness by knocking on the girls’ bedroom door and making a mad dash for the main house doors. Well, Kuya turned the tables on Mariel by telling the housemates to go out while locking the door to the outside world. Mariel shrieked and frantically pushed at the door which fortunately did open just in time and the teens only saw the doors closing behind her.

They soon noticed the money inside the instant noodle cup and Mariel’s note which had them wondering what the mystery guest was talking about. Soon Kuya’s voice went booming on the speakers telling the housemates of what a huge mess they have made of his house. Not only was he disappointed with their untidiness but also of their dilemma over the person who hoards their supply of noodles. Actually the housemates suspected Priscilla of hiding the noodles but she swore to Kuya inside the confession room that she didn’t have anything to do with the incident. Kuya told everyone to clean up his house and for the noodlenapper to step forward. “Gusto ko ayusin ninyo ang aking bahay…nagkakaintindihan ba tayo housemates?” was Big Brother’s stern reminder to them.

However, no one still admitted to hiding the supply of noodles. Rona urged everyone to start cleaning but the teens were still bothered over their mystery guest’s identity. The girls suspected that they had a male guest because of the sloppy handwriting on the note. Nan on the other hand said that the guest was definitely female.

Would the identities of the mystery house guest and the noodle napper be revealed soon? Will the teens clean up according to Kuya’s standards and keep the house in order always? Don’t miss the exciting conclusion of this mystery in the future episodes of Uber and PBB Teen Edition Plus.
