Though his mother has brought him home to the Philippines only once – and that was way back when he was four years old – Alex is no stranger to the ways and culture of the Filipino. Aside from knowing basic Filipino, an example of this is his great regard for family. He looks up to his brother John and has a tight bond with his mom, Minda. He is also eager to go back to his roots and surprise his maternal lola and other relatives in Lucena. Alex is affectionate, caring and funny towards his family. Truly Filipino, he will move heaven and earth for his family and he hopes to give them a better life someday. And yet, despite the fact that Italian is not his best subject, one cannot take the Italian out of Alex. He has made quite a name for himself as a soccer player who has been written about in local papers.
